Has anyone experienced this problem..

I just built a quad core 9150e with 780g computer. 4gb of ram. I'm running XP 32-bit SP3 right now, and I noticed that the scrolling of screens in firefox 3 is oddly stuttery and slow.

Other than that its a very fast platform.

But its really weird that the 2d is slow. Anyone else have this problem? THere is a thread on amd's forum about it from other people affected by it. Seems IE7 works fine, but ff3 is really slow scrolling on pages with lots of images. The little pop up warnings that a pop up is coming up are basically a slide show too

I mean the other computer i have is a celeron 1.6 with a gma 3100 and its blazing fast (and i'd assume the phenom 9150 with faster igp would be faster) so I'm not sure whats wrong.

It seems to only be a firefox thing too.

Could it be some sort of power management causing this?

Have you tried setting your power profile to 'Always on' within Windows?

yeah i tried that.

it didnt really help.

i find it really weird, it seems to be fine on IE, and basically any other app . I mean honestly this machine is blazing fast for any normal work, except firefox .

its particularly bad when theres a lot of flash, and things that are animated on the screen. And the menus in firefox are very "choppy" like it cant even scroll the little "downloads completed" warning as smoothly as you'd expect.

I read that it might be a problem with the 2d driver... so maybe ill just buy a real video card (i was planning to wait for the 4670 to go on sale on some deal in a month or 2 when fallout 3 comes out... sigh)

How much memory do you have allocated to the IGP? Which Cat version you using? I have 790GX and haven't seen anything like that here, but I'm having some other issues as well.

i'm using cat 8.9.

i left the memory allocation on "auto" and it seems to have allocated 700mb for the IGP.

Didnt bother to change it, seeing as i'm running 32-bit XP and can only see 3.5 GB of my 4gb anyway.

THat really seems to be the only issue i have that firefox seems a little choppy on certain operations. its not THAT bad, but it doesnt feel even as fast as my celeron D 420 using an intel igp.

everything else seems pretty snappy just firefox.

i found this thread
http://forums.amd.com/game/mes...tid=279&threadid=99753

so i guess otherse have this problem too...

I havent actually had any other problems, but I just put this machine together a couple days ago. Other than that its pretty smooth, and very fast I'd say (i'm not a heavy computer user really as I dont play too many games, i figured i'd give AMD a shot again instead of intel since i got a great deal on the 9150e

OH well hopefully they fix this

I am having the same problem (Gigabyte 780G-SH2). Glad to know it isn't just me. Unglad to know there isn't any fix, but I assume if I put a discrete card in my system the problem will go away?
