Hi!

Well, just noticed that my 7800GTX won't switch back to low-performance mode ever. I remember when I bought the card I watched it dropping back in Everest after a few seconds Everest loaded. Not long after I got the card I have decided to flash it with it's own bios except of course that I changed the speed for the high level mode from 430Mhz to 490MHz. Now I noticed that my card won't drop back to the lowest mode, no matter what I do. First I thought that some app that uses 3D functions must be running in the background. Found nothing. Then I flashed back the original BIOS that I saved to a file before flashing the OCd bios. No effect. Now my card always runs on the highest level. Tried to switch driver, to no avail.

Card is working fine. No problems whatsoever. Only the GPU temp is at constant 65C even when no 3d stuff is running (that's 150 Fahrenheit).

Anyone experienced such behaviour? Anyone has explanation?

Thanks for your time!

I think i had the same problems with my 7800GT, i think i fixed it by playing with rivatuner for a bit.

Did the down-clocked GTX lower temps by a lot? I used to down-clock my GTO2 in 2D mode from 520/540 to 250/250 but the idle temps were only 1 or 2 C lower than 520/540 idling...
