I'm currently building a gaming system with a 7800GTX. I've noticed some mention of "HDTV" in the title of the 7800GTX.

Is it possible for me to run my card into my HDTV and if so, what parts would I need and what resolution would it run at? Thanks.

Unless I'm wrong, HDTV output usually refers to component.

If your HDTV doesn't have DVI, you can use component to hook it up too (if I'm right that your card has it... should be a blue/green/red cable set coming from a dongle).

As to answer your questions about Resolution it depends entirely on the TV itself, they usually have stated resolutions somewhere in their specs. Most likely something up to 13x9 something, maybe a little higher.

Thank you for the help. It looks like the HDTV has a DVI port in the back. I never would have thought.
I'll post some results if it works.

Yea, it'll work and it is very easy. Plug one end in the video card, one end in the monitor / hdtv. nothing more complicated.

some people with RPTV (crt variety) need the component out from a card to work. most (if not all) modern DLP / LCD direct view or rear projection tvs all have DVI / HDMI inputs. if you do not have a DVI input and have a HDMI, then froogle for a converter. it is 10-20 bucks shipped, don't pay for the monster cable hype.

No, it doesn't always work, at least not easily.

You should go to AVSForum and check on how to set up your specific model of HDTV to work with your PC.
