just out of curiosity, is the 7800gtx going to come out in agp8x? i was just wondering because up until the point, the gpus had not pushed agp 8x to their max, so does the 7800 do this or is it going to be pci-x only because the hardware makers want you to buy a new m/b? not that i would buy one, but i was just curious.

The reason it's probably not going to be released in AGP is because that interface is dying now, AGP will make it's way down to sit next to ISA now.

Probably not, the reasoning is probably more along the lines that if you spend $600 on a GFX card, you'll already have spent x on a new motherboard and CPU.

No.

nVidia wants you to spend $600 on their video card, plus another ~$150+ for a new PCI-e motherboard...

No. AGP8X has more than enough bandwidth for anything out today, or in the near future.
