7800GT Speeds...

So I'm looking on www.hardocp.com and seeing a BFG 7800GT review that has their card clocked at 425 MHz...but my eVGA 7800GT came stock at 445MHz...what?! Is eVGA overclocking to the extreme (and mine is the non-CO edition!!!!)

I've overclocked the card to 460MHz core, but due to the cheepy chinese made crappy cooler fan dieing (well, bearings weren't oiled I think...they are screeching) I've had to stop my OC and live with it where it is until I get my VF700 monday.

But seriously, what the heck??

Also, with eVGA's upgrade program, is it worth me trading in my GT for a GTX for an extra $75-$100? Or should I save this for future computer upgrades, like 2GB ram? Would i really see that much better performance using HDR and whatnot (in games like BF2, SC:CT HL2 etc)

EDIT: the moniter I use is limited to 1280x1024....so I won't be running high resolutions anytime soon.

Thanks!

If 1280x1024 is all you can do, theres not much reason to get a GTX. I went for the GT for the same reason. Spend the money elsewhere instead.

yes the EVGA comes stock with the 445MHz. As for upgrading to the GTX is there any game that you are playing that gets really slow framerates with the GT? i would assume prolly not so i would just save up for some future upgrade.

I was thinking of upgrading to the gtx myself. I have a month left to step up. I may be looking to get the dell2005fp monitor soon for higher resolutions.
But I was thinking maybe stepping up to the 7800gt CO and getting another one for sli. Would the CO be worth it or just get another regular gt for sli ?
