Hi i have an optereon 165 running at 2.9ghz with 2 gb of ram running 7800gt sli at 440/1100. I am considering upgrading to a single 8800gts 320mb. I game on a 19" lcd at 1280x1024. Will i see much improvement performance wise? Also do you think the 320mb is gonna be enough for games like crisis running at 1280x1024 without AA.

not sure if performance wise things will improve, but you will see a huge visual quality diff along with dx10 and hdcp support. as long as u keep ur screen size below the 22" area (1600x1200, 1680x1050). the 320mb card will rock your world. the 8800gts 640mb outperforms a 7900gt in sli so it'd kill the 7800gt sli easily. and from what i've read on review sites at 1280x1024 the diff between 640mb and 320mb were negligible in most games (think it was quake 4 where the 640mb had signficant advantage).

p.s.: turn AA on

The less you pay the better you will feel when your card is worth nothing

Dont go anything higher then a X8800GTS 320 cause when X8900 comes out after the new ATI cards do....

not worth waiting!

I'd say go for it. Huge IQ increase and probably the same/most likely better performance at that resolution with stuff cranked up.
(p.s. videoclone, the card's names do not have an X in front of them. You're thinking ATi.)
