I am contemplating purchasing the 7800GT from ZZF for $319 AR, yet if the price is going to drop in the next few weeks, I would like to wait... Do you predict that the prices will fall at all from where they are now??? TIA!
 
When ATi next and greatest becomes more widely available, aka November, I suspect you can get a 7800GT for around $320, without rebate.

If you can find a 20% or 25% off dell sb coupon. You can get a BFG 7800GT OC for $324 before a $30 rebate. $294AR 🙂
 
I'm wondering if we'll see some Black Friday sales on the 7800 GT, perhaps down to $300 or slightly less (AR of course) on Black Friday. Hope I can find some sort of use for my Best Buy McBucks and a gift card.

OMG! The 7800 GT has just broken the $300 barrier--currently $290 AR (plus shipping) at Tiger Direct. 3dFuzion might be near the bottom of the barrel, but it's encouraging to see the prices edging down.

That is an awesome deal. Honestly, this generation has cured me from being an early adoptor... At these prices, I could have dual 7800GT's in SLI for less than I paid for a single GTX. Last gen, the prices stayed high for a long time. IIRC. the price drop for the 6800GT was about $30-50 in about 6 months.

I'm curious, what actually makes 3dFuzion "bottom of the barrel"? I'm not trying to be smart or anything, but I'm in the market for a 7800GT myself, and I'm wondering why is it that I should buy a more expensive eVGA, BFG, or Leadtek over a 3dFuzion.
 
Assuming you get the rebate from TD. THeres been alot of, well, negative things said about them and rebates.

Id rather have a lifetime warranty from the BFG cards myself. Find a dell coupon, or buy one off ebay. You can get it for $294AR. Rebate doesnt expire till 10/31.
 
Unless you plan to run the card at stock, the warranty is meaningless (with the exception of eVGA of course).

Exactly. So there is really no good reason I shouldn't just bite the bullet and get the cheapest card? It's really a case of just having Nike or generic sneakers that are the same quality?

...and also getting closer to the PCI-E 6800 GTs (around $280). 7800 GTs are now CHEAPER than 6800 Ultras.

Are people actually buying PCI-E 6800s at those prices?

I find it bothersome that these e-tailers won't drop the prices on these older cards accordingly. A 6660 GT should go for $120, a 6800 GT for $200, and a 6800 Ultra for $250.

As of now, a 7800 GT for $290 is by far the best bang-for-the-buck deal available.

I'm not convinced that it is bottom of the barrel, which is why I said "might" in my post.

I think the concern, which may or may not be accurate, is that because 3dFuzion is a secondary value line, it's possible that BFG might be "binning" its GPUs and cards, sending the lesser ones to the 3dFuzion line, meaning that while they might meet stock speeds, they are horrible overclockers. In contrast, if you purchase a PNY or XFX 7800 GT the probability that the GPU itself (ignoring everything else like the memory and HSF) will be a good overclocker is probably equal with that of the other brands.

It's good to know that the warranty increased to 2 years. I'm hoping to build a new rig sometime in the next couple months and hopefully before the end of the year. I'm going to wait and hope the prices keep dropping, but I'll definitely keep my eye on the 3dFuzion 7800 GT.
 
The pricing rift between the 7800GTX and GT is currently growing, it may be that nV is considering launching a 512MB version of the GT slotted between the GT and GTX along with the 512MB GTX at the top end to have a part to match everything ATi is looking to offer.

That is a misprint. I contacted 3DFuzion today and they stated the warranty is 1 year.

On the brighter side, anyone purchasing an EVGA 7800 GT October 17th through October 31st, should check this out for a free copy of COD2 to make whatever deal they find just a bit hotter :

Keep me posted when they have one of those 7800 + free SLI mobo deals. That's what I really need. I'm one of those 939 AGP users looking for an excuse to upgrade. Right now I think it's kind of redundant to get a motherboard that supports the same model processor. Can't complain however, thank you AMD.

This is the only store still carrying the cobo deal that I know of and it's only a $30 savings.

Best price I coud find on the 7800 GTX via pricewatch was $468 shipped at XtremeGear

leaving the mobo @ $61.99 in the combo vs $99 retail @ZZF.

I haven't seen the old deal of $399 for the 7800 GT & SLi board and that had a $40 rebate as well. I think that one is long gone but I'm sure the prices will just continue to fall, they always do. :laugh::roll:😱🙁😕😀😛

Actually, I've always felt the same but only based on others experiences. I went out on a limb today testing a deal and will post the results if all works out w/ a Evga 7800GT on the cheap via TD. (not for the faint at heart so be warned 😛)

As far as my order has gone, I ordered 10/18 @ 10 AM, order was shipped by 4 PM.
There is a very good chance I will receive the order tomarrow ,as I am close to the distribution center and this is with the default UPS ground shipping.

I had tried to place the order last night and ran into a couple of issues in placing the order, due to multiple attempts to put this deal I'm working on togather and was trying to swing the free shipping offered yesterday into the mix. I called today, very short hold time btw, to be greated by a professional CSR. I explained I attempted to order yesterday and had problems and was wondering if they could still extend the free shipping. The CSR checked into it, forwarded my request and said I should have a credit for the shipping in a few days.


The card has a rebate but the rebate is via EVGA and not TD so I have little worry there. One last little experience I had with TD was during an Ebay binge I was on and ended up placing a "buy it now" bid on the wrong PSU. I emailed them asking if I could cancel and they were helpful and friendly even though it was clearly my mistake.

Will post with an update to my deal and the details but I after these experiences, my perception is changing on TD.
