I have a 6600vanilla as some of you prolly know already. I still havent made up my mind yet. My question is should I get a 7800gt later and get 2gb or ram now or a 7800gt now and 2gb of ram later. Which one will give me the biggest increase?

Pelee is correct, I misread you OP I thought that was a 6800 Vanilla. Yeah if you are running a 6600, get the 7800GT, it will be a WORLD of difference.

If you play BF2 than I would diffently go with the 2gigs...your 6600 is fine for current games...wait tell the price drops on the 7800 lines and than you can get one

A decent harddrive makes a huge difference in load times. I only have 1gb RAM but I also have a 10,000 rpm Raptor harddrive, and BF2 maps loaded just fine. No stutter or anything. Don't underestimate the overall performance of a high end harddisk.

7800GT anyday...you wont notice any difference with 2gb unless you're playing a game such as BF2 at high resolutions.
