Has the # of pipes been confirmed? Is it an underclocked GTX like the 6xxx GT/Ultra was?

"1 Dual Link TMDS DVI Connector "

fantastic for those wanting to run Apple 30" cinema screens. 😀

Need to see 1)Benchmarks, and 2) 399 is too much. The GTX isn't that much more than the Vanilla GT. However, my stance on that may change after I see bullet 1. 😛

Looks cool, but no confirmation on how many pipelines. If it has 24 it would be too good to buy a GTX IMO so I guess 20 is the number...

$399 the first day it's available for sale is not "too much" - Pricewatch has one vendor (Ewiz) that has 7800GTXs for $468, and $484 is the next lowest.

When you consider:
A. It's day one and prices will likely fall
B. ATI has no competition to this currently
C. What you get for the $399 above above the X850XT PE and 6800U (transparency AA, second gen PVP, the tweaked shaders, the revised occlusion culling)

I think the value of this card is pretty clear. You may not think it's worth it, but you should tell us what your reasons are?

We still need to see benchmarks to make an informed decision if it's worth $399 or not.

Guru3d, |H|, and Hot Hardware all have reviews out. AT's shouldn't be too far behind. Having read all of these, this card outperforms all last generation cards by a fairly large margin... additionally it is not that much slower than the GTX.

Very good deal for 399 especially since MSRP is 450.

I dont expect the price to slide as quickly as some others are implying.

Nvidia wont allow price drops until the 6800GTs and Ultras are sold down.
