7800gt low fps

Well in cs:source in a 20 man pub i get like 55-65 fps i can tell when its this low. than on like a 12 man private scrim server i get like 75. but the stress test gets about 128 some. Now why is my 7800gt such a better card than my x800gto @ 16 pipes but does worse in cs:s?
 
what settings do you play at? What are your other hardware specs.

I have the rig in my sig, play on 1280 x 1024 all High w/ HDR and average about 70 fps. Usually its around 80 and it can dip into the 50's.

Your's should be doing a bit better than what you said
