I have an evga co edition 7800gt clocked at 500 and 1200. I am looking to make a purchase of a 2405fpw when the price drops as a relsult of the new lcds dell is supposed to be coming out with. Will this be enough to play Bf2, Hl2, and some of the coming games at the 2405fpw resolution, or should I hang tight until the gtx 512 comes down in price or the new ati card comes out. I have tried with sli 7800gt and i don't like the issues i had so i am looking for the best price/performance that will allow me to play at high resolution and have aa turned on. Thanks here are my system stats to help you guys:

Motherboard: Dfi lanparty ut sli-dr
Proc.: Amd 3000+ @ 2520
Ram: G. Skill pc4000 hz 1 gb @ 229 fsb
video: Evga 7800gt co @ 500/1200
Harddrive: Western Didgital 200gb sata 150
Power supply Ocz 520watt powerstream

Thanks

I'm not 100% sure on this, but you will likely need 2x1 gig sticks of ram (running dual channel).

I can bring my system to Its knees by cranking the resolutions past 1600x1200 on BF2.
SLI tends to shine in those high resolution settings.

I average 60-70 fps on the 64 player servers @ 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 8xAF (via global driver settings) with the rig in my sig.

Having 2 gigs makes a big difference also, that is if you like to be the first one to spawn on a new map ;)

Hope this helps good luck.

I have a 2405 and 2 7800gt's but I would guess that you would have no trouble with anything except FEAR and COD2 with AA. Those are the only 2 games where I don't try running 4x AA 16x AF. Everything else runs great so I would think you would have no trouble getting playable framerates. As far as wanting to play future games with a single GT; your best option would be to wait for something better or get a smaller monitor.
