i have a Thermaltake Pure power 480 PSU. will this be adequate to power a BFG7800GS ? currently running a Leadtek 6600GT with a P-4 2.4c running @2.8 on an ASUS P4P-800. yes i know all about the better, faster, stronger PCI-E but an upgrade is out of the question right now and want to game on for another year. i play mostly Joint Ops right now but plan to sample some newer games soon.

Yeah, it consumes even less power than the 6800 Ultra, and it was able to run good on a 450 Watt Quality PSU.

thanks for your reply!. since i posted i stumbled across an ATI x800gto that comes with all 16 pipelines active for 140.00 dollars. never had an ATI card. if i can keep 60.00 bucks in my pocket and get the same performance why wouldnt i?

Well, if you overclock it you should, even better at higher resolutions, but the difference is not noticeable at all, depends on your settings, but still nice.

well i purchased the BFG 7800gs from Newegg today. i have always had Nvidia in my computers so i figured i would stick with a known entity. this should see me through untill my next build which will have all the latest goodies, pci-e, core duo, sli, flat screen and maybe even holographic rendering lol.
