7800GS to 7900GT

I currently have an EVGA 7800GS that I bought last month. I just read the thread talking about EVGAs step up program. It would cost me about $50 to "step up" to the 7900GT super clock. Would the performance increase be worth the $50? I haven't been able to find any review comparing the 7800GS to 7900GT.

Thanks for any info!

maybe he's going to build a system on the pci-e platform thats why he's considering it.

Just to let you know, the SC version isn't worth it IMO. I reach the same speeds with my $20 cheaper 7900GT CO. In fact I reached 564mhz on core (stable) with no artifacts pretty easy. Then Coolbits wouldn't let me go any further on the core, so I'll have to load up Riva Tuner and give that a try. Also the memory reached 860mhz (1720mhz effective) with no artifacting and thats with no cooling.

BTW, thats my 7900GT SLI setup.
