7800gs installation help

hi guys, i just bought a 7800gs for my computer. i tried installing the drivers for it, which went well, but everytime i boot my computer, windows keeps telling me to install the driver, which i already did like 5 times.

so i asked dell, and they told me to uninstall my current driverm, then reboot and install the one from nvidia or evga's own cd. i tried both ways, but neither of them worked. so as of now, i cannot run any games due to failed drivers.

if anyone has encountered or knows how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. thanx a lot.

First thing, download Nasty File Remover or Driver Cleaner Pro from here:

run the install program, but not the actual program.
Next, use control panel to uninstall your video card. when the computer re-boots, boot into safe mode, and run the cleaner program in there. Reboot again, and install your new drivers. (hope I didn't leave out any steps)
That process has worked well for me over the years.
