is there really that much of an improvement over the 6800GT (which is what i have curently)?

I went to pick up this card today and noticed that they also had an eVGA 7900 GS PCIe card for $119.99 AR. It looked like a great deal also. Is there a great deal of performance increase with that card compared with the 7800GS AGP? It was tempting, but it would mean I would have to upgrade my motherboard and I was waiting for cheaper DirectX 10 cards to come out before I made the jump to PCIe.
