Which would be better. I have the 7800s in SLI currently, will a single 8800 GT beat that enough to warrant an upgrade?? Also i am having heat trouble with the two cards, would one card be a lot cooler, Thx

8800gt should beat it in pretty much everything. By how much depends on what kinda gains your games get from sli.
I went from single 7800gtx (256meg) to 9600gt (a lil slower than 8800gt) and in hellgate at the same settings frames went up ~75-100%. In CoH frames went up 200-300%.

8800gt will probably be about 1/2 the heat of 7800gtxsli if not less.

I had a pair of 7800 GT's in SLI and, eventually, replaced them with a single 8800GT, I did not do any benchmarking, but my Crysis performance did shoot up enough to where I went from playing all settings on medium (and still a bit choppy) to most settings on high (at 1400x900) (reasonably smooth)

Take a look at this benchmark. Compare the two cards in blue (7800GTX SLI versus single G80 8800GTX). See how well the 8800GTX trounces the SLI 7800GTX cards. Look at some of the other benchmarks. See the same pattern hold up everywhere tested.

Now note that the G92 8800GTS is about equivalent to the G80 8800GTX (benchmark).

eBay the 2x 7800GTX and buy an 8800GTS 512MB (around $200 after MIR on several models currently).
