I OCed my GTX512 to 630/1850 in rivatuner and I was getting a strangely low 3D Mark of 8900~

After a couple tries I monitored my clocks with RT and I found that it was running at 500/1700!

Is there any way I can keep it from doing this?

Get a better Cooler OR don't OC as much OR flash the bios (not recommended).

They don't seem to be selling? Where can you find one at retail? They sell believe me. I would unload that card so fast reggie bush would be in awe of my speed. Reason? R580/G71. Nuff said.

man, I waited 3 months then another month to step-up to the 512mb GTX, no way would I sell mine. hehe

does your card throttle when it's not overclocked? it shouldn't be doing that.

Its in FS/FT for $799... see if anyone wants.

If it sells I'll pick up an x1800 XT maybe...

Now this is just interesting.
Not only do they cost an arm & a leg, they throttle :Q

Damn, that sucks...but really, you did get what you paid for, didn't you?
It doesn't throttle at stock does it?

Probably throttling because of the overclock. Mine will run @ 635/1.82GHz
Anything after that and performance drops quite a bit. That's on water too. With one card I get 10,957 marks in 05. What's your highest score so far and what was the card clocked at?

Depends on the card...they're a hit and miss. One of mine will do almost 640MHz while the other barely hangs on at 590MHz. I would use coolbits. Clock the card until it fails the test. After that it's likely to throttle. No need to clock these cards to the sky anyway. They're already plenty fast.

I envy anyone with a GTX512, but my 7800GT's in SLI that cost's less will beat them.

Except if you have 7800GTX 512's in SLI. Then you just beat everything there is! And I still envy you...

buy something cheap til jan 24/25th then get the new king of the hill. People are buying these for a lot a lot a...a lot of money.............
you could get a card that performes better and will be cheaper in a few weeks. The time is now though. And only now.
its only a small risk as the potential loss is small compared to the $200 +/- gain.
