7800 gt is making some noise

Ok so the cooler started to make some noise today. I took the card out, unscrewed the black plastic top cover thing off of the HSF and cleaned the dust out. I made sure everything was good, and put back together. I put it back in and it faintly made the noise until I got to windows. Now... the noise isnt a whining or anything. Its like a rubbing. Its not making it now, but Im kinda anal... so should I waste my money and buy one of those arctic coolers or something? I dont really want to, but im just looking for some opinions. (oh if it maters, I have the XFX 7800 GT OC Extreme card which is black and green) ITs not making any noise now, so im guessing it might have been a dust clod or like that black cover maybe got warm and warped in or somehting... but i suppose if its just rubbing, it would eventually rub itself away and the noise would go away. But its not making any noise right now. I can hit the case and move it and everything and it wont com back. Should I be worried?

I would replace it. Those cards don't run really cool, so if the fan ever did die it could be a bad thing.

I will recommend the Zalman VF900 or the VF700 if you want something a bit cheaper.

But its not like that kind of noise its not liek a bad bearing or anything its like the fan rubbing on the top plate. Idunno. Ill look around.

One reason I do shop at tiger is that when I order, its about 1 day shipping, as i live within 40 miles of it. Ive never had problems with their products or warranty

VF700

VF900

The VF900 is a newer version, with a heatpipe. It's a bit more money, cools a bit better, and has a nice four point mount.

If you don't want to spend that much, go for the VF700 - it's a great cooler as well.

Its really the best? Cause I dont want to buy soemthing thats going to be average or something thats not much better than my current one. If I buy one it will be the 900, but how much cooler will it be? Is it going to be louder? Are there any reviews on it?

There are lots of reviews around, and I'd say the VF900 is one of the best coolers by far.

It is also really quiet, especially with the fan on lower speeds.

Google search for a VF900 review
