Hey guys,

First time computer builder here in need of some assistance. Here is what I have in the system so far. Antec P180, 3 stock fans, Athlon 64 3200+ Venice, XFX 7800 GT, OCZ Modstream 450W, keyboard, mouse, Dell 1907FPW.

So I tried to turn on the PC, and the fans all start up, including the one on the mobo, 7800, and the loudass one one the CPU. But I can't seem to get any picture on the monitor. Oh yea and I cant turn the PC off by using the Power button....I have to turn off the power supply (Is this even safe?)

So can someone suggest some possible reasons why I'm not getting any picture, and also why the power button wont shut off the computer.

Thanks in advance

I really don't konw what to tell you guy. tell me mor about your system and what it is doing. What motherboard? Have you checked and rechecked the connections? Does the card have a power cord to it? Did you connect the power switch the right way?

I'm not sure about the power button, but if you are using DVI, make very sure the connection is good...they are a lot more finicky than vga connections.

Sorry, pressed the quick reply button :disgust:, hence the blank message below.

OK, this I have an Asus A8N-E mobo. I'm pretty sure the DVI connection is good because I have the floating "Digital Input Self Test Feature Check" screen on my monitor dissappears as soon as I plug it in the DVI on my vid card. Every fan is turning on when I press the power button (3 chassis, CPU, mobo, vid card). I have an Antec P180, so there's no speaker in there, so not sure if there are any beeps or not. I have cleared the CMOS by removing the battery and by moving the jumper.

Thanks for the help.
