7800 GT eVGA or BFG

How do you figure that? lol.. BFG is faster at stock. Both have lifetime warranty. BFG has better support imo. evga is good also though. Has a step up program. I bought the Bfg for under $290.... The evga is like around $310 or so after rebates.

I dont see how you came up with "so far its no competition" but ok. Id say go with either. Both are good. One note: You might need to flash your bios on the evga. I know alot of people that had the same problem and requires a bios flash. Go with whatever is cheaper.

well...im really glad you mentioned the evga bios issue. i really dont wanna have to flash the bios or think i should have to. for the money, it should be good to go out of the box. SO, does the BFG have a bios issue or is it fine. this may be a big deciding factor for me...is the BFG more stable/less possibility for trouble.

What about the bios flash issue... is this something i shouldnt worry about? stability and no trouble is important to me. anyone know if the BFG bios is more stable..no artifacts? or if the new evga bios completely fixes their problem?

Yes, I agree. I would incline towards evga, but have heard some nice things about bfg as well.

I just bought a BFG 7800 GT and like it. I play alot of games without a problem. It worked out of the box. I bought my for price. Honestly, get the one with a cheaper price tag.

What about XFX, they double LT waranty? This can be had for $349 at zzf.
Are these oveclocked better than the BFG or EVGA? I'm in the market for one but have had tough time deciding which mfg. I do o/c my g/c so I need a good one. Pls advise.

EVGA 7800 GT CO 470 core 1.1ghz mem
EVGA 7800 GT 445 core 1.07 mem
BFG 7800 GT OC 425 core 1.05 mem

I don't have experience with BFG, but eVGA produce excellent video cards.

My new eVGA 7800GT ran at 445MHz/1070Mhz out of the box.

Now I have it OC'ed to 480MHz/1150Mhz, and it's running all games with no problems. I get a 7750 score on 3DMark 05.

I would side with BFG because I have had good experience with them. But honestly get which ever ones cheaper both are great companies.

Do you use stock fan on your 7800? That 3dmark05 score is very impressive for a 7800 Gt OC'ed.

Yes, I'm using the stock fan and hs. The eVGA card I got came out of the box with 445 GPU/1070 Memory. The score I got was with Forceware 77.76 that came with the CD, but I think with the newer drivers I might get a bit more than that.

I'll retest today with newer drivers and a higher OC to see how much more I can get out of it.
