7800 GT "Detect Optimal Frequencies" Way High

I did the option in coolbits and it gave me 502/1.18 for my 7800 GT's in SLi. Isnt that really high..or should I try it...I have no idea but 81.84 seemed to open up the card a lot. Any ideas?

Mine detected 495/1.2 but I found that to be unstable in games. 480/1.15 works good and is more than enough performance. Lately I have just been doing 465/1.10 because even that is plenty of power and it's playing it a little safer, imho.

 

Start low then work your way up testing for artifacts.
