I was wondering two things..
If anyone is experiencing artifacts with a non-evga card?
If you had an evga card with artifacts, and you flashed the bios... did it always fix?
its possible other 7800 GT's get artifacts if the cards cant handle the clock speeds.
EVGA 7800 GT's are the ONLY 7800 GT's that have the geometric clock set to 40mhz, other 7800 GT's have it set to 0. The geometric clock adds 40mhz to the GPU running 3D apps (making the GPU 486mhz). Some EVGA 7800 GT's can handle the GPU at 486mhz, but some cant. If you do get artifacts, flashing is a good idea.
What the new BIOS does is remove the 40mhz geometric clock (so it runs at 445 in 3D apps instead of 486). EVGA also made the 3D and 2D clocks the same making it more stable. The old BIOS had the 2D clock set to 275mhz and the 3D clock at 445/486. I'm guessing EVGA is starting to put the new BIOS in their new cards, but old stock will have the old BIOS.
The new BIOS SHOULD fix the artifact problems, but if your card cant even handle 445mhz, you will still get artifacts, but this probably wont happen.
