7800 and 3 monitors

Is there any way to play games with 3 monitors with the 7800? Its my understanding that you still can use up to 4 with the cards independent, but only 2 if they are SLI.

With all these SLI solutions at $600 a pop, you'd think someone would figure a way to put them on 3 monitors.

I don't think there's a way to game on 2 monitors using an ATI or Nvidia card, let alone 3. "Surround Gaming," to the best of my knowledge, was a Matrox-only thing; short lived because of many factors: a lack of developer support, the Matrox Parhelia being a pitiful excuse for a gaming card (at least, a couple months after it's release), the fact that multi-monitor gaming requires tons more video and CPU power, especially at the super-high resolution games are often played at today, etc.
