780 sli won't enable [solved] please delete

So i'm building a rig for someone and SLI does not seem to be working.

Specs:
i7 4770k
16GB ram
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H
Gigabyte GTX 780 x 2
Corsair AX1200i

Essentially the problem is that both cards show up in device manager, nvidia control panel and GPU benching software, however there are no SLI options in nvidia control panel. The only option is the physics option and nothing where there should be SLI options, even though both cards are displayed.

I have tried:
- Swapping the SLI bridge
- Adding additional SLI bridge
- Swapping cards to different slots
- Testing with 1 card
- Testing with the other card
- Clean install of OS
- Clean install of various versions of the drivers
- Update MOBO BIOS
- Swapped the motherboard to a new identical board
- Swapped the one of the cards to a new identical card

Pretty stumped on this one which i am usually not. Any suggestions 😕
