According to a Fox News Poll 78% Americans want Incumbents OUT.

Even 52 percent of Democrats, whose party controls both houses of Congress, would get rid of all incumbents. Thirty-two percent would keep them.

Most Republicans (79 percent) and independents (78 percent) would vote to get rid of all incumbents.

Some ppl here would dismiss it as its a Faux Noise Poll but I dont think its too far away from reality..

There's been other polls from all the major networks and rasmussen that support a very strong, overwhelming anti-incumbent attitude even for their own reps/senators. Tidal wave is coming.

It's not just "oh, they hate congress but love/vote for their own rep". No, it's totally different this time and people have had enough.

There's some irony that the Republicans did far worse and deserved this sentiment far more, if the chickens come home to roost during the Democrats.

People's standards go up under the Democrats - they get fury for smaller things while the Republicans get a blind eye turned for far worse.

What would they replace the current Congress with? Far worse. If it were to replace them with progressive, it'd make sense. But it's to replace with worse.

People have been voting out incumbents a lot over the last couple of elections.

Sadly, since corporations are considered "people", and "money" is considered "speech", we are just going to be replacing the existing bureaucrats with new corporately sponsored stooges.

Oh I cant wait for Fall.

I'm beginning to think the parties are colluding with one another. In public, they bicker and snipe at each other, but once the doors close, they all have a good laugh at our expense.

Interesting. I don't think electing Republicans will help anything, but maybe they will start behaving responsibly instead of obstructing everything. I doubt it, but could happen.

I dont think any of this is going to matter, after all America voted for a leader who claimed that he was "totally different" from the "regular politicians" and will bring "real change", but he just turned out to be more of the same...

The problem is, taking advantage of the situation, many more of these "Real change" douchebags will jump in and eventually America will have replaced the politicians just to find out that they voted for more of the same and in most cases much worse as now there is no restriction on campaign donations.

/facepalm.

There are a ton of restrictions, entities are now allowed to use their general treasuries to fund a PAC and also have freedom of speech.

And yet when it comes time to vote they won't vote them out. That makes them either a liar or weak, but in any case abhorrent.

Forgive me if I am wrong, obviously didn't read the whole thing, but didn't the 2010 Supreme Court ruling basically opened gates for anyone (corporation) to contribute....

no. not at all. that case wasn't even about campaign contributions.

While I certainly don't put much stock in anything from Faux, certainly not a poll, that's been a popular sentiment for quite some time now. What's funny to me is that the people dismissing it back in the Bush days seem to be the ones most excited about doing it now.

Gee, I wonder why...

Guess in 2 more years we'll get the chance again.

I'm hoping for a republican super majority in house and congress so we can totally cut obama's balls off and undo all his damage.

Want to veto what we're doing to take this country back? Tough shit Obama, We The People override!

It is exactly that. That is why they always talk about meaningless issues like they are polar opposites. For example.. they'll be happy to talk about abortion, gun control, prayer in schools, etc.. But the real stuff - like eliminating government corruption.. actually eliminating expensive government programs.. - only the 'fringe' candidates talk about that.

One problem with polls like this is 78% want everyone else' incumbents out, but they usually then vote to keep their own pork-machine incumbent bringing home the bacon.

Me too, but for different reasons I think than you. Although Im not a fan Obama, I dont see him as the anti-Christ some do. Pelosi and Reid on the other hand is a different story. I prefer to have opposing parties in legislative and executive branches myself for balance. History clearly shows a majority by one party in both branches = fuck ups. Although, its funny watching the last 3 years though...a party cripples itself by tripping its own partisan cock all drunk with power. This last run of majority by the Dems has goit to be the most ineffective legislative, in my lifetime anyway. They blew it (not that Im complaining).

The Republicans did not promise the moon - the Dems did.

The Dems were the ones that raised people expectations that given a super majority in both the House and Senate; they could turn the country around and get all the Dem platforms pushed through so people could have their manna from heaven.

Then when reality set in for the Pols, they started to point fingers and waffle on what they actually promised.

People can accept that a pol will lie and stretch the truth to get elected. Once they are elected, then they are expected to deliver on what they state after the election is over.

This is where the Dems failed!

Excuses made, do not count - they (Pols) are supposed to be smart enough to think they could bamboozle the public and not promise what they could not deliver without the public having a memory (partially jogged by the opponent).

Necks were stuck out; some are going to get chopped off. More will get chopped when the public actually sees what the Dems have accomplished.

Nov will be interesting, very interesting.

Early polls here in CA shows that the republicans are going to beat up on some long standing dems.
