What's the difference in the 4gb versions over the 2gb ones besides adding on about 70 bucks to the price? I can see there are other things that make a difference in price, but that seems to be one of the main things. Is there a noticeable performance increase? I'm not shy about putting all the funding into the GPU, I just want to know it's going to be worth it...

So then it's just a lifetime extender as the games get more resource hoggish? Might just go with 4gb anyway and cut costs elsewhere. I do like overkill, just not overly expensive overkill...

4GB cards cost as much as R9 290s. Get the 770 2GB and sell it in 12 months and upgrade to Maxwell. Alternatively, get R9 280X, or wait for after-market R9 290s at $399.

2gb. You wont reach 2gb ever with 1200p or lower.
Im not getting my 1.5gb maxed with 1080p. Nor will it do in the next years

Care for it when it gets more important. By that time youll upgrade again

I agree with Russian. I love my 770 2GB, but if I were buying today I'd go for an aftermarket R9-290 instead of a 770. Paying for a 4GB 770 at this point would be a waste of money, as the R9-290 is a good 15% faster at stock.

you can get cheapo GT630/640's with GK208 4gb of ram now. GDDR3 :(

problem is the ratio of bus to ram is not good. nor is the cheap GDDR3.

you need to scale the bus size to the ram.

Not sure about that. The 770 is like yesterday's 570 that shipped with 1.25gbs. 1.25GB now is not a good spot to be in. The 570 came out in what, 2011? It's not that old, the 770 is an expensive card to be stuck with 2gbs down the road if you don't upgrade again. I could also see this hurting a 770 2gb resale value similar to the 570 today. 2gigs today is midrange, it puts the 770 in a precarious place for a new buyer given its price.

No difference in performance atm. Maybe in a couple of years. But, the 770 2GB is fine for 1080P. Just depends on how long you are going to go before upgrading again. 2GB is being pushed a bit in BF4 though, but it runs fine for me totally maxed out on Ultra @ 1080p.

Disregard paragraphs telling you to buy something else. Just buy what you want.

That being said, a 280X (Asus DirectCu) is a good deal at this same price point...so make sure you do some comparative looks before making your decision.
