On a couple of games (mostly FarCry) I was playing it for about 3 hours the other day and on the level where you use the glider the grass and trees started to disappear, turn grey, or change texture randomly like my video card ware freaking out.

I checked the temps and I was a little under 70c (idle is ~50c) and just for the heck of it I thought I would try to under clock it and see what that did. I under clocked core from 580 to 500 and mem from 750 to 700 and it worked like a charm from there on.

Also, in NFSMW after you play for a long time the game begins to get random bursts of speed where everything goes faster for ~1s and then slows back down to normal speeds(and while yes, you may thing this is good in a racing game, it gets very hard to play.)

Any thoughts on why this might be happening? Thanks!

Did you try different drivers? If not you card could be defective. Here lately Evga has been having some problems.

i really can't understand how so many 7xxx series cards have issues. ppl on there 3rd and 4th RMA's are quite common here. how can any company screw upa pruduct that badly ?

anyway OP you might want to let atitool (i think it work on nvidia cards too) do its artifact scanning for a few hours and closly monitor the temperature. might help you figure out the problem.
