7600GT - Pink/Purple Video Problem

I recently got a eVGA 7600 GT video card.
Everything is working fine except that after playing a game (day of defeat), all my movies/videos I watch with VLCPlayer are Pink/Purple. Ive seen a few other cases of this when people play movies after gaming with a steam game, but was never resolved/fixed.
What is causing this? At first I thought it was overheating and causing problems, but its not. Its the game. Its only when I play my game does it happen.
How do I fix this?

How long has it been this way? I havent tested it on the new beta yet, I will in like 20 minutes though. I was useing latest stable releases when i noticed this then reinstalled (and made sureI had) the newest drivers. Then it happened again, I installed beta drivers.

I havent tried, and I dont want to find out. I hate WMP. But ill try if i have to 🙁

Edit- No it doesnt do it. I HATE WMP though, and I had having a million codecs. I love my VLCPlayer.

Does anyone else have this problem and/or a solution?

I've remembered the problem of heat issues causing pinkish checkboard patterns.
Playing games stress the video card hence it could be a heat problem. Does it always happen even after the gpu has plenty of time to cool down?

Well its not a checkboard pattern. And its ONLY VLCPlayer. I dont think its heat related anymore. I quit the game and checked 30 minutes later, it was still pink. Its not pink in WMP. I think its a bug between Steam, Nvidia Drivers, and VLCPlayer. Two of them are conflicting. The GPU cools down quite quickly which suprises me. It goes from 46-50(peak of 51 so far that ive seen for like a second or two) when playing a game to 40/38 in under 30 seconds. Also makes me think its nots a heat issue. I have my PC very well fanned/ventilated

I've got a 7800GT and I have an issue where, if I have a movie loaded on VLC (on play or paused), I can see parts of the movie in little holes in the screen during games. It's kind of funny actually.

Ya ive always had that. I think its the color of "black" they use for the video. It shows when a picture with that exact color match is in it 😛 or the game 😛
