7600gt and 8600gt can you sli together?

no, you can't sli nvidia cards that aren't the same type.

One of the benefits of Crossfire [being able to run mismatched card in tandem]...ew i feel dirty stating a benefit of dual card configs

SLI/CF are nearly always a waste of money unless at the very high end though, so for that level of cards, you should be looking to sell your existing card & buying a new 8800 GT/GTS/HD 3870
