I bet that IF they come out, they make quite a splash in the AGP community... and there are still MILLIONS of AGP boxes around.

Now I just hope that they do the sensible thing and bring them out in the $200 or under range.

Considering I have the Best Motherboard Ever and a great Sempron, my 9600XT has served me well for the last 2 years. Time to upgrade.

ATi won't ever get a cent from me untill they release a proper driver for Linux on par to their Windows drivers. nVidia already supports 6 OS's ffs, the canadians must be hibernating.

I've got a Shuttle box I use for gaming and the motherboard is proprietary, so I'm going for a 7600GT if/when they come out with it. I figure that should get me another couple of years with the small handful of games I play. I'm not a serious gamer, but that's all I use this particular box for. I figure that by the time I do upgrade it, I'll probably be looking at an AM2 setup or perhaps even an Intel offering if they really make the big splash that it looks like they might.

Seems totally possible, but I bet the price will be something insane like $250 just like the The 7800GS priced at $300.

If ATI's Windows drivers suck, then Nvidia's must suck horribly. Just read AAtech's recent review on drivers.

well the 7600gs and gts pcb is more or less the same as the 6600gt.

it wouldnt be that surprising if they just dropped it onto the 6600gt agp boards and changed a few things in the design. it doesnt even really need more power of cooling, so great news for agp owners.

this probably is as fast as the 16 pipe really crippled 7800gs they released.

I am in the exact same boat as you, with the DFI board, OCed Sempron, even kingston ram except mine is PC3500. This would be sweet if the preformance price ratio is what the PCI-E version is like.

this looks nice for the HTPC im building for my parents...it will definitely be an awesome upgrade from my geforce3. hopefully this will cost less than 200 bucks.

sweet, time to upgrade after 3 years, from my Geforce FX

but then again DirectX 10 cards are at the corner, although i m assuming that first directX 10 game will come only in 2008 (Halo 2 maybe)

There is an MSI board previewed at HKEPC.

At most 1% slower than the PCI-E version due to the older bridge, but still beats the x1600Pro by 37% in BF2 @1600*1200 4AA 8AF with a respectable 26FPS for a mid-range card.

My monitor is only 1280*1024 but I play games at 1024*768, I am already drooling to get this card :)

I can not wait to get my hands on this card when I return to my computer after the summer. I was planning on looking for a used x800xt or something, but now I think I will be buying one of these. :D

Too bad it's going to have what is known as the AGP Premium. No way in hell is it going to retail for the same amount as the PCIe version.

Hopefully it will be <$200 for you AGP guys. More than $200 would make it not so hot a bargain. It's a good card, I really like mine.

According to the article they only expect the AGP card to be about $10 more then the PCIe card. Thats not to shabby.
