RivaTuner can control the fan speed but unless it has been updated recently, editing its config file will be required to properly recognize the card. I don't have the necessary info handy at the mo' so try google.

To just have 100% all the time doesn't really make sense for such a cool chip and since there are seperate clock settings for 2D and 3D (but oddly only for the core and not the mem) but you could try Nvidia's built-in option for that.

Again, I can't say whether that is visible by default or even if it will actually override the BIOS setting (ergo it may just force 65% all the time).

I have not tried manual OC yet but noted ATI Tool incorrectly reads the default mem freq as 350 instead of 700 (effective 1400) so was leary of using it. Don't worry about the core temp as even 100C is probably fine (note thermal throttling doesn't even kick in for protection until 115C).

Hm, I found it in that winfox thing but I think I have to always leave it on to have it spin the fan at 100%.

I don't use ATI tool to OC, I use Nvidia's built in thing by just uh "installing" coolbits (just a registry update I think). I then use ati tools to stress the GFX card and keep an eye on the temps listed in Nvidia's control panel.

Thanks for the info on the fan, I'll just try to spin it at 100% and see what temps I get while stressing the card. Anything over 70C makes me nervous...x_X

Ja, when referring to auto-OC I am likewise using Nvidia's built-in Clock Frequency Settings enabled via the registry. A third-party utility called NVTray includes a component called NVTweak which can toggle various such hidden options including Fan Control, GPU Threshold Warning, AGP Settings, &c. Oddly, the "Active Overclocking" option does not unhide Clock Frequency Settings. For performance, you may want to check the status of FastWrites and Sideband Addressing from AGP Settings and/or RivaTuner.

Here's the necessary RivaTuner.cfg edit to properly recognize the 7600GT:
NV4B = 390h-39Fh
to
NV4B = 390h-39Fh, 2E0h-2E2h

WinFox struck me as a dated novelty slash turd.

I got one essentially the day it was released, quite a lucky find if I might add, cause over the weekend availability dropped to zilch. This was in NZ btw. Now eta's meant to be Oct 10. :(

I recently bought the leadtek card, and i can only get a score of about 4300 in 3dmark05.
Ive got the new nvidia drivers installed, and my agp drivers for my motherboard are updated too.

My specs are:
P4 3ghz, 800mhz fsb, 512kb L2 cache
2gb PC3200 dual ram
Leadtek A7600GT TDH

I believe i have done the most usual stuff to free up ressources for the card, but maybe i missed something. Does anyone have any suggetions on what i might do to increase my score in 3dmark05?

:)

EDIT: Oh and i got a 350W powerunit installed
