(sorry, I always wanted to say something gay like that) 🙂

You might want to edit that "gay" out...

It could be offensive to some...(not me though)

The most powerful card there is obviously the X1950 Pro. However, depending on how much you want to spend, the 7900GS might be a better buy.

If you can swing another few $'s, the best overall card by far is the X1950XT, however out of your choices the X1950 Pro is easily the best bet.

7900 GS is a better buy, but I purchased an open box X1950Pro for less than a new 7900GS. So, maybe if you can find the same sort of deal, you should go with that.

hmm ... *best* is relative

the 1950p is the most powerful card you listed and was *my choice* in upgrading from an x850xt 😉

what system will it go it [cpu, ram, etc.]... AGP or PCIe? What resolution do you game at?

since you say 800x600, then the 7600GT would be perfect for you because it will probably play most games at their highest settings.

upgrade to next-gen cards when they come out/come down in price.

I have noticed that x1950pro from powercolor is superior compared to radeon x1950pro,
in what consists the difference in performance?

*superior* ... how so?

if you are comparing the 512MB vRAM version with the 256MB version ... it is a 'bit' faster by reason of the extra memory.

and why 6x8 resolution and what games do you play ?

?

hmmmmmmmm

/thread

Thats the cheapest I've seen a 7900GS for and the X1950PRO is a bit faster in every game he mentioned, a lot faster in OB.

I should add for overclockers the 7900GS is probably the better value since it has way more head room suprassing the pro when both are oced to the max. Thats why the 7900GS is so popular in the mid range.
