I just got a PNY Geforce 7600gs and installed it into my older machine. I have an Abit AN7 mobo and a 300watt PS. My machine started rebooting every maybe 30 mins. Even sometimes faster when I am playing games.

I read online that they suggest at least 400 watts for the card and I thought that might be the issue so I went out and got a 500watt PS. However that didnt seem to help. The machine rebooted itself again.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Is there some incompatibility in the nforce AN7 mobo and a nvidia card? That sounds odd. The heat sink on the card gets only slightly warm to the touch... not anywhere near as hot as I think it'd have to be if that were an issue.

Just an update if anyone cares or searches with a similar issue in the future:

The problem is a compatibility issue between the nvidia drivers and something else... I am not sure what. I checked the minidump and I see that IRQ_OUT_OF_RANGE or whatever it is error. All nvidia cards have failed in the same way in 2 different machines I have with AN7 mobos and different other components so I think it might be nforce related or something.

I got an ati x1650 and it works perfectly.
