7600 GTS vs 9800 Pro

My brother has an Athlon XP 1800+ with a Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb AGP. I found a good deal on a 7600 GTS but can't find any reviews on it. He's thinking of going with an Athlon 64 3000 or 3200 and OC it to around 2.4 ghz. How much of an improvement in gaming do you think he'll see?

That will be a huge upgrade. No joke. I went from a 9800 pro on an Athlon64 2800+ to a 7800gt on a 3500+ @ 2.6 GHz, and the difference was absolutely night and day. Of course, he's not making such a huge jump, but not far off.

otherwise save money and get a core2 system, you won't look back with regret

I'd say the 7600 is still CPU bounded. It really needs something recent (AMD X2 or Intel C2D) for the 7600 to shine. But, I'd say about 2X increase.
