7600 GT vs. 9800 pro

All things being equal, can I expect a good performance gain going from a ATI 9800 pro 128mb to a 7600 GT?

I am trying to decide whether to replace my faulty motherboard with a identical replacement, or move to a newer one that can use the 7600 card.

yes, definitely...you can except a LOT of difference from a 9800pro to a 7600GT.

i went from a geforce3 to a 6600GT (yesterday) and the difference is night and day.

Thanks for the quick response. I really haven't been paying much attention to the video card market, and they motherboard failure caught me off guard.
 
The 7600GT can spank the 9800 Pro's sorry ass.

The 9800pro is not a sorry ass card at all, and it never was.

I should hope a card that is a couple generations newer would be considerably faster.
