Lowest it runs is 55c, and when I alt-tabed outta WoW it was up around 64-68 celsius. How hot do these things normally run? My FX5900xt never got close to being this hot.

I'm thinking of getting a PCI fan to blow up on it and help with cooling.

Typical temperatures. I would't worry about it.

You don't need a pci fan to blow up, it needs to suck out the hot air from your case.

You can safetly ignore MonkeyFeces on this.

Those temps aren't that bad at all, as anyone who used an 6600GT/6800GS will tell you ;)

I use a passive 6600GT and 6800 and those can hit ~100C on a hot day but run fine. With your temps I wouldn't worry about it.

These temps are high AFAIK, idle for a 7600GT shouldn't be 55C, what is full load?

do you wanna kill a 6600GT and 6800 at 100C?

Looks fine, if it gets into the 80's then that would be a bit high for a 7600gt. My x1900xt used to reach 90*C.... i mean wtf its a graphics card not a small oven! :frown:

Key word here: Passive. The cards' thermal limits are ~130C so 100C is fine.
Kill a video card? Hardly. Prove it and I'll believe you, maybe.

Anyways, my point is that if my cards can operate fine at 100C then 64-68C with a HSF is perfectly fine. Now, 90C for an X1900XT with a HSF is more worrying.

[Edit] I'll also point out that I'm only listing my worst case scenario. Temps are more around 70-80C on average

My statement was considering whether he wanted to get his maximum overclock while keeping his card functioning for years to come. Even if he doesn't plan to keep his card for more than a year, it would be smart to get an after market cooler because it is transferable, quieter and you can feel safe increasing your clock speed and overvolting.

Thermal throttling is set to occur at 115C which implies your temps are well within spec.

with stock evga fan mine loaded at around 65 but it was way to loud for me so I got the vf900-cu and now I load at around 49-50 with almost no noise
Idle was about 55 and dropped to about 43-44 with the zalman.

to sum it all up, your temperatures are perfectly normal!
