7600 GT or 6800

I am not a gamer but like discrete graphics, can you help me choose between these 2 cards. Thanks.

One is a 6800XT, which is slower than a regular 6800.
On that I'd say get the 7600GT.

7600gt will eat that 6800xt alive, then puke it up, then put it in a delicious shake for a morning energy drink before it goes on its daily jog. that answer ur question? 😉

the 7600Gt is slighty faster than a 6800 ultra and comes with features like HDR and SM3.0, seems like an easy call to me

I'm going to put a different spin on this & say that for $99 AR the 6800XT is the way to go provided you really have no interest in gaming at all... if you are even a casual gamer however the 7600 is a no-brainer.

If you don't play any games I would suggest getting a cheap video card like the Nvidia 6200 or ATI x300 with passive heatsinks for $40.

For $100 the best gaming card would probably be a x800gto refurb from newegg.

Do you play any 3D games?? If so, which ones? If not, go for the suggestion of the guys above (i.e. 6200 or x300) or even 7300GS....
