I have a MSI K7TPro2-A mobo and via 4.29 final installed. I have DMA if available selected but it says it is in PIO mode. Any suggestions on how to get it into DMA mode? Thanks

The CD that came with your board should have UDMA/100 drivers on it. Win2K does not have these drivers natively. If the CD does not, contact MSI.

If you read the readme with the hotfix, it says that the drive will still report PIO mode even thought it is running in DMA. To fix this completely and get it to read Ultra DMA, install service pack 2 beta.

Hmmm......I had this same motherboard and drive and mine did not show drive as running in PIO mode. I had a Sandra benchmark of 23,000.

Davegod75... What kind of benchmarks are you getting with this drive?
