754 versus 939 chipset mobo ?'s about A64 Upgrade Tree

Current 754 chipset motherboards will work up to what in the A64 series? Same question for 939 chipset because I read another post a week or so ago saying that the 939 chipset wont or may not support the A64 3000. How high will the 939 chipset go with A64, 3000 - 4200 or 3900 ? Higher Lower ??? Trying to figure out best upgrade tree from 3000 to 3900 at least with mobo upgrade in comming months. Will be buying ASUS mobo. Really would like to start out with 3000 and go to 3900 and higher if possible. Dont want to start with 3200 because of cost performance bang for buck issue. etc.

I would say it's almost irrelevant.
By the time they have faster chips, you want a better mobo anyway.

check anandtech frontpage he did a roadmap for AMD chips around a month ago.

I believe the fastest 754 will be 3700 (2.4 ghz I think).
