754 or 939 pin processor?

What is exactly the difference between the two, and is it worth the extra 100 dollars that I'll be spending for the 939 pin?

I don't know where your from but a 939 CPU would not be $100 more then the same 754 CPU.

Exactly= 939 supports dual channel mem 754 does not/ 754 is a great performer but is being faded out by AMD/ 939 is more future proof and will support future cpu's including dual core/ 939 supports the Winchester cores which run very cool and oc very well on air. I think it is worth the extra 100$ , but it is your choice.

http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=19-103-502&depa=0 is the 939 socket 3200+ which runs for 245 while the 3200+ 754 socket runs for 194. http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=19-103-483&depa=0. Guess the 100 dolalrs was an exagerration, but i'd have to get a little more expensive mobo too.

Search other sites for prices as there is a high demand for the new 90nm CPU's so prices on newegg are a bit high.

That is due to the fact that is it a Winchester rather then newcastle.
