7500 worth $75 more than 64MB DDR?

I purchased a Radeon 64MB DDR last week from Futureshop. I am able to price match it for 2 weeks. They have lowered the price by $75 (CAD) today. The guy in the store didn't know when the 7500 would be available. I have writtena n email to Futureshop to ask them, but they haven't replied yet.

Is the 7500 worth $75 more than the DDR? Would I be better off getting the $75 back and keeping the DDR and suing the money towards some other piece of equipment? I know lots of people are saying that the 8500 is a better deal, but in Canada it is start selling for about $450 and the 7500 at abotu $299, so it is quiter a difference in our money.

Thanks,

Chris

wait, so the 7500 is going to be the price you paid for the 64 MB last week? If it is, and you can return the 64 MB, then return it and get the 7500.

It might be worth while to get your $75 back on the price match. The 7500 will likely only be slightly better than the DDR when all is said and done.

No, it's 50%-100% faster than the Radeon 64 MB DDR according to the latest benchmarks.

Yes, but the person working at Futureshop said it could be up to a month or more before they had them in stock. And I really don't want to wai tthat long to have a good video card.

Yes, the 7500 should be the same price when it arrives at Futureshop. I was just asking if it is worth $&5 more than the DDR. Also, I am not a hard core gamer. I am very happy with the performance of the 64MB DDR right now. I was just wondering if the 7500 would be that much better. I need ot get a new hard drive and would also like a new monitor, and $75 would buy a part of a hard drive.

The 7500 will be much faster, BUT, if you are satisfied with the 64 MB (it's treated me pretty well! =P), then by all means, get the $75 and use it on something. Though I would say it's worth the $75 to get the 7500 IF you want a faster card.

Oh man...... Just go on vaction or spend time with the gf (if you have one) for those 4 weeks.. You'll be glad you did. Cause then you can pickup your shiny new RADEON 7500.

And thats the reason why! With games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstien and the New Solider of Fortune around the corner. You'll need all the gfx power you got!

It'll be worth it..jeezze whats 4 weeks away?
