7500 Mobility Issue

Just got a laptop with a mobility 7500 Radeon, and well, i installed everything in the sequence described, with the correct drivers...everytime i run a game with openGL or DX (counter-strike, q3) the machine will artifact to death, flicker all over the place...
any ideas?

What are the other specs of the notebook? You could try installing the latest Omega drivers, see if that helps?

Would bode well for you to include which driver version, as well as any clock settings (ATITool, Powerstrip, etc can provide these).

May also want to monitor the internals via a temperature monitoring application (MobileMeter, FanGui, etc dependent upon the make and model of your machine), and post those as well.

Its a p4 2.2ghz, Sager made, NP8880 512mb ram. I did a fresh install of WindowsXP and there is a manual with the sequence of drivers, so i did that in the sequence, im not sure, its crazy, its not so much artifacts as it is, just the textures are moving, kinda jumbled. My FPS in ut2k4 is fairly high. I did the omega drivers and ended with the same results.
Sequence it said to follow;
Chipset, Audio, Modem, LAN , Video and Touchpad
