There's a bar around the corner from my office, by the Boston Statehouse, called "The 21st Amendment."

Its a pretty dope spot. Fireplace and everything.

I was looking down the topic list, wondering if anyone had posted this. (Poor turnout of responses, ATOT. For shame.)

I, for one, will celebrate. Woohoo!

I did some reading on what all went down during prohibition. Turns out people drank just as much, if not more than when it was legal. All outlawing it did was cut the government out of the loop and made people millions who were willing to risk breaking a couple laws.

Wait..that sounds pretty close to whats going on today with drugs...

Please note that I don't use drugs. I haven't since I was a teenager. I just think its completely ridiculous to keep things going the way they are. I mean we learned this lesson back in the 30's! How is the drug war any different than prohibition?

My company had a nice luncheon where we drank numerous bottles of wine and had several "digestive" shots....a few hours of work and then we are taking a "castaway dinner cruise" where copious amounts of alcohol will be consumed.

Drugs are bad because my government said so. The nearly 15,000 who die annually on U.S. roads due to alcohol apparently deserved it though, even if they were sober and a drunk hit them. I don't know, I don't like to think too much so I'll leave it at that.
