I wonder if you can just set up a recurring transfer from an account at another bank, rather than a payroll direct deposit?
 
I dont think a recurring transfer is considered direct deposit.

Looks like you have to have a direct deposit, usually from payroll. :/ not worth the trouble to switch

From an earlier post someone said that if you simply made transfers from Paypal (or other ways) each month, that the bank interprets it as direct deposit.

Can anyone please explain how this works?
