In the former case, not a chance. As for the existance/non-existance of gods, it can't be proven nor disproven, so one can only take a neutral stance, like with every kind of superstition.

I don't believe in the existence of a god. THat said, I don't think it can be proven either way. So I guess that makes me an agnostic atheist.

However, I am beginning to become enlightened to the ways of other belief systems that are usually referred to as "religions." I've been reading up on Buddhism lately, and I think it really sounds like a wonderful religion / philosophy even though Buddhists don't believe in an all-powerful being.

So, do I believe in an all-powerful god or creator? No. Do I believe there might be unexplainable spiritual forces? Sure.
 
I believe in a higher power..

not necessarily Jesus, Jehovah, Allah, Buddha or <Insert your God name here>

but I do believe that there is an afterlife or eternal dream state...

I'm christian, and i still wish people would talk about sex instead of these religion threads.

They're getting old and tiresome. If you believe in some sort of God, it's pointless to post here without getting flame. If your agnostic or athiest, it's pointless to post here without half the people thinking your an @sshole, when in all truth you just beleive differently. Can we please let these threads stop.

just as an interesting point, buddha was just a regular guy; we don't pray to him as a god (except for the more rediculous sects of Buddhism), Much like Muslims don't think of Mohammed as a God I guess.

Well, you're right. Mohammed wasn't a god -- he was merely a prophet. 🙂

Technically speaking Jesus was the son of God as well.

Mohammed and Buddha may not appear to be gods but they are revered and idolized as such.

It's all just a matter of opinion

If gods exist, they can be anything: inferior, equal, superior and everything in-between.

To say with certainty that they're any of those things merely proves that he who says it is an idiot (read: someone incapable of any form of logic).

But it's just as irrational to assume that gods exist.
