7200 vs. 5400 RPM power consumption for laptops

I have a new HP Compaq 6930b. It has a 5400 RPM HDD:

Toshiba MK1655GSX

I have a 7200 RPM HDD I could replace it with as its performance is much greater:

Seagate Momentus ST9160823AS

Will the 7200 RPM one suck up battery life really badly? Does anyone know how to compare their power consumption? The laptop runs Windows 7 in power saver mode. Advice needed. I do prefer performance, but don't want it to take hours off a full charge. I can deal with something like a 20 minute difference in battery life.

No, most companies have figured out ways to get their 7200rpm hds to run at very low power. Some HDds even compete with SSDs in terms of battery life.

It will use a little bit more, but not a large difference for sure. Likely, unless your laptop is a ULV or netbook, you won't even notice.
