So, it is 6PM on the East Coast.

We have been told numerous times that no vote will take place until the legislation has been posted on the internet for 72 hours.

I guess this means that we will not be seeing a vote on this "Slaughter rule" legislation this week.

You forgot, it's daylight savings time week, so 72 hours really means 3 hours... what with the moon and shit....

Why do we need it posted for 72 hours when the entire negotiations have been posted on CSPAN for everyone to watch? Oh.. wait..

I'm not bitter, hell - I didn't think we'd have a chance in hell at winning in November a year or so ago.. now it looks pretty much certain.. Obama has failed in just about every way.. perhaps most importantly will be his failure to keep his party in power.

Will you be bitter if you lose again?

You do know that Pelosi said that the bill will need to become law so we can find out what is in it.

This is a what I expected from a transparent administration... one who has allowed more Freedom of Information Act exceptions than Bush.

any opportunity to spout your bias....
The interesting thing is it never was about Obama as you die hard republican want it to be....
It was a vote for mthe lesser of two evils and you can be 100% sure there will be no republican president for at least 2 or 3 more termsd with the democrats in power!

Not about Obama? Hell I guess it is some imposter crossing these United States filling up town halls with pre-selected yes-men blowing sunshine up their asses about phoney stories about specific people who have health issues and are now the punchlines of his lies.

It's going to be law and Republicans still won't have a majority in either chamber by November. Move on.

But, the government is broke and needs to begin collecting new taxes immediately.

Who wants to take bets on whether the new revenues will be spent in other ways before the benefits kick in? Meaning we'll have to add more to the national debt in the out years.

Looks like the Reps have some of theeir own tricks up there sleeve

Democrats might like to think that health care reform is all but a done deal if it clears the House, but the Senate is where Republicans have been plotting for months to sentence it to a painful procedural death.

Republican aides have been mining the Senate’s arcane parliamentary rules for an attack that aims at striking elements both broad and narrow from the bill, weakening the measure and ultimately defeating it. Their goal is to force changes that leave Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) without 51 votes to pass it, or at the very least, that drive it back to the House for a second vote that drags out the process and saps Democratic resolve.
But the first step in the Republicans’ game plan is making sure they never need to use the rest of it.

“Our initial goal is to stop the bill in the House,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas). “Part of convincing House members to vote for the Senate bill is that it can be fixed by reconciliation, and I think that is a highly questionable proposition.”

Hope the Parliamentarian has a food taster and keeps tabs on Rahms location.

Since the transparent obama administration is not posting the details of the bill... the ones interesting in reading it have turned their attention to the court briefs they will be filing to sue the U.S. Government if the democrats continue down this road. I don't think obama has enough activist judges in place yet to fight all these suits.

Good, let's hope they succeed.

72 hour rush to pass legislation that doesn't start providing benefits until 2014

I don't know what benefits your looking for :) But the major ones I'm looking for like eliminating lifetime caps and banning denials, refusals and pre exsisting conditions all take effect right away.
