716sa doesnt see cd-r butt....

See dvd-r just fine, used to have no prob burning but will no longer burn cd-r. I have tried many different cd-r media!
 
After talking to plextor, looks like the drive is screwy. The best part is I bought on 08/26/05 at a cost of 130$. Whats it less than two weeks past the year warrenty. Needless to say I will not be buying another plextor product ever again!

Funny thing is I also bought a nec dvdrw that day and it still kicks a$$, 40$ is what it cost!

Plextor using that $ to make sure their drives fail just after the warrenty runs out? Job security!!!!:|
 
The 716SA had a lot of problems...I have 2 of them and they give me trouble every now and then...try updating the firmware...1.10 is out now....

The 755A/SA is a much higher quality...seems Plextor has fixed alot of previous problems in this model...

Funny though...716SA does DAE about 2-3x faster than my 755SA...
