Do they not know Hawaii is a state? Its kinda new at being a state, since 1959...

Do they consider military installations in other countries to be sovereign US territory, thus, to be "in America" ? A US Naval base in Korea, can be considered sovereign US territory for example?

So you take 71% of Republicans who think Obama not born in the USA
vs
22% of Democrats who say Bush knew about 9/11 before attack

and hint there is some kind of equivalence?

Who are the idiots, again?? You being the prime example.

What about the 60-70% of people who lie on polls?

I sincerely do not believe that that is representative of Republicans. Somebody needs to check their facts. people aren't that dumb.

Yeah I used to think that about the GOP base too...but in the last 15 years they have definitely proven me wrong here. Seriously, I really wish people like DSF were correct. Alas, being incorrect and intellectually dishonest is much more their speed.

Given what I've heard out of these types, the numbers in the poll (regrettably) don't seem too far off. I think it's kind of hilarious that the closer we get to the election, the more effort there seems to be from the right to distance itself from the litany of fail they've been proudly trumpeting since 2008ish. Some people within the bubble get it, they'd just rather try to re-write history rather than perform any kind of introspection or maybe re-evaluate the issues where their beliefs and reality part ways.

Last Saturday while waiting in line I heard a car dealership manager make some comment about how Obama just hates the military. I asked him if he gives raises to employees he hates, to which he replied with an enthusiastic "Hell no!" Seems he had no idea Obama wants to give the military a much needed raise, but when I assured him this was the case, his way of ending the conversation was "Well it's probably just for enlisted dems and muslims. lol." I bet he's fun at parties.

So yeah, the poll is believable to me based on personal experience and being a news hound.

Believe it or not, a ton of Democrats still believe that Bush stole the election in 2000 despite all evidence to the contrary.

Although you will likely deny this to the end of eternity, you really aren't that different from those you despise. We all live in bubbles...this is the human condition.

correct me if i am wrong here, but didn't Gore win the popular vote and by doing so, Bush become the only president in the past century to win the election while losing the popular vote?

Believe it or not, a ton of the GOP still believe Ronald Reagan took out the USSR.

Was kind of mind blowing even back i 1983 or so I was stationed in Hawaii and my fiance was from there.

Brought here to Indiana to meet the parents at the time prior to the wedding and she became ill, had to go to the hospital. The nurse admitting her at first was stating there was a problem, etc, because she was from a foreign country.

So what?

It's beyond obvious that Obama was born in Hawaii, always has been.

Birtherism is a desperate attempt to deny legitimacy to the Obama presidency, a claim of cheating & fraud.

If you can't deny that we have a black President, then deny that he's legitimate. It soothes Righties' self righteous nature, helps 'em to keep the Faith, hold to their "values" & maintain smug moral superiority.

Good point Doc, People fall for propaganda on all sides of all fences. All 'sides' are guilty of using propaganda tactics of spreading biased information in a manner that misrepresents things in order to appear worse or better than reality.

Propaganda != facts and observable reality. DSF has a well documented problem discerning them on these forums.

You can applaud him all you want though. You're just slapping him on the back for doing his standard schtick. Last I checked liberals were quite aware that Bush didn't steal anything in 2000, but he didn't outright win it beyond all question at all. In his bubble chamber, it was a slam dunk election with a multitude of butthurt liberals. No mention of Bush V Gore, the 5-4 votes, or this ditty from Stevens after the case.

"...one thing ... is certain. Although we may never know with complete certainty the identity of the winner of this year's Presidential election, the identity of the loser is perfectly clear. It is the Nation's confidence in the judge as an impartial guardian of the rule of law."

Waaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaa.....

It was sure tempting to mimic the standard GOP troll and post a "Well I'm not voting for Bush then!" but I think I'm just going to agree with you here and leave it at that. Well said.

A vast majority of the military despise Obama. Have you ever stopped to wonder why?

Holy shit...everything we heard from liberals was that Bush stole that election...hell, we still hear it to this day. And FYI dumbass, Bush would have won without the SCOTUS decision. What color is the sky in your delusional world?

I'm not defending birthers. It seems like it's really hard for you to focus...you OK?
