What about the temp bug? Oh and the widescreen DVI problem?

Not that it matters to me since I will no longer have an SLI system, but hey for the people that it would affect.

Sweet!
Riddick is fixed! I haven't played it because it didn't work with SLI.
Also the higher temperature issue, and card(s) not returning to 2d speeds.

I would say "yes" because:
A. It lists "20% higher 6800U temp fixed"
B. It lists "all cards not returning to 2d speeds after 3d games" fixed, which would account for higher temps.

If there's a "6800GT runs 2d from start at higher temp" that may not be?

YES! Mpeg bug fixed in this release! SiS748 chipset & 6600GT, some mpeg files had corruption with hardware accelleration.

Now if someone knows how to remove the "play on my" item in the context menu of video files, I would absolutely love that! I screwed around with the registry and somehow got it removed on just .avi files, but couldn't for the others, and of course now it's back with the new driver release. =(

I can hardly believe there are new official drivers so quickly. Sadly I don't think the trend will continue though.

NVIDIAs traditional release speed is around 40-60 days for drivers, they have had a lot going on with SLI and PvP support so ive tried to be patient with the recent lull in their release speed.

Hopefully they are picking up the pace again

Happily for us though, you don't have any way of knowing this as you don't work for nVidia, so it could as easily be a sign of things to come as an anomaly. :)

I had problems not getting any increases as expected from SLI. After installing these drivers it made a big difference for me in my particular situation.

Hmmm, me thinks that I might need to give these a try. Wonder how long it's going to take for XG to make their version...

Unlikely given nVidia has shown no interest in consistently delivering official drivers at reasonable and regular intervals, unlike ATi.

that doesnt matter...they were proven to be better, and that's sad...they have to WHQL them, which ATI doesnt, and that takes awhile...plus, they are using a different design for their cards, as opposed to ATI using the 9700 design for a reallllly long time (even in todays x800 cards). Nvidia just has more work to do than ATI, so it will take longer, but they DO release better drivers (as in everything that is not IQ and speeds in games).

God BFG... You can be obscenely aggrevating at times.

You KNOW that NVIDIA had a very fast and consistant release schedule prior to the 6000 series release.

Just because there was a lull doesnt mean thats the new norm.

Edit: spelling.

You KNOW that NVIDIA had a very fast and consistant release schedule prior to the 6000 series release.

It looks like this is quite normal for Nvidia. Releasing a much needed driver fix soon. According to their Driver release archive.

The last drivers release were:

Hey! Cut it out with these crazy facts.

If BFG says
nVidia has shown no interest in consistently delivering official drivers at reasonable and regular intervals, unlike ATi.

it must be true.

nVidia is obviously just collecting their money and laughing at us given the release intervals you posted.........
